Maya Donaldson | Co-Head Coach

Maya Donaldson’s return to the wild timber pool deck brings championship experience, technical expertise, and a passion for athlete development. A former WTTE swimmer, Maya is excited to give back to the program that helped shape her love for the sport.

Before college, Maya was a standout swimmer for the Lanier Longhorns, where she served as team captain, set program records in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Freestyle Relay, qualified for state each season, and earned multiple Scholar-Athlete honors.

Maya continued her academics and was a four-year NCAA swimmer and team captain at Birmingham Southern College, where she helped lead her team to multiple Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championships. Throughout her collegiate career, she consistently competed in key events including the 200 Fly, placing fourth at the SAA Championship. She also contributed valuable points in the breaststroke events and the IM events and was recognized on the Southern Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll. Her leadership in and out of the water played a vital role in her team’s championship culture.

Maya’s coaching experience is extensive and diverse. She currently serves as a Swim Coach with Swim Atlanta, leading multiple training groups and mentoring swimmers of varying ages and skill levels. She was the Head Coach of the Chattahoochee Whitecaps from 2021-2025, where she facilitated coaching for swimmers ages 4–18 and organized meet operations. Her leadership extends beyond the pool, having served as an AAU Team USA coach for the 2025 ISF U15 Gymnasiade in Serbia.

Off the pool deck, Maya earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Management from Birmingham Southern College. Her background in leadership, organization, and communication enhances her coaching style, allowing her to connect with swimmers while fostering discipline, confidence, and technical growth.

Maya is passionate about building strong team culture, refining stroke technique, and helping swimmers reach their full potential. WTTE is thrilled to welcome her leadership, energy, and championship mindset back to the Wild Timber pool.

Lauren Taylor | Co-Head Coach

Lauren Taylor’s journey with Wild Timber Team Extreme (WTTE) has officially come full circle. Having first dived into the pool with WTTE at the age of seven, Lauren is thrilled to return to her home deck this season as Co-Head Coach. Lauren was a four-year high school varsity swimmer and part of the NGHS team that won the 2023 State Championship. She currently is a member of the University of Kentucky Club Swim Team.

Lauren began her coaching career in 2021 as a Junior Coach for WTTE for three seasons mentoring younger swimmers. In 2024, Lauren became an Assistant Coach for the Rivermoore Riptides gaining invaluable technical experience under the mentorship of Coach Charles Daab, the North Gwinnett High School Assistant coach. The last several years have helped diversify her leadership style.

Off the pool deck, Lauren is a Junior at the University of Kentucky studying Kinesiology and planning to graduate in December. Her academic background provides her with a unique understanding of body mechanics and movement, which she utilizes to improve swimmer technique and prevent injury. She is currently preparing for Physical Therapy school, further fueling her commitment to athlete wellness and development.

WTTE is thrilled to welcome Lauren’s passion, experience, and full-circle leadership back to the Wild Timber pool deck. Her deep roots with the team, combined with her competitive drive and commitment to athlete development, make her an inspiring leader for our swimmers both in and out of the water.
